EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge
The EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge works with both the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System and EASY-CHANGE Gullet System WIDE to help you select the correct gullet size for your horse and monitor changes in their muscling over time.
The EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge provides a starting point for gullet selection. The correct gullet choice will be confirmed upon fitting the gullet for a panel contact or bearing that best matches the pitch of your horse's back.
Depending on your saddle style, particularly very close contact models, your saddle fitter may recommend using a gullet one to two sizes closer than indicated on the gauge.

Which gullet comes fitted in my saddle?
Most Wintec saddles come with a medium (black) gullet. High Wither models come with a medium narrow (green), and WIDE models come with a 2XW.Does the gauge give me the final gullet size?
No. It gives you a starting point, and the right gullet is confirmed when you fit it and check how the saddle sits on your horse's back. -
Standard saddles take six gullets, colour-coded by size: narrow 210 mm, medium narrow 220 mm, medium 230 mm, medium wide 240 mm, wide 245 mm and extra wide 255 mm. Each is measured across the inside at its widest point, with a 3 mm tolerance either way. These are for reference, not for fitting. To find the right gullet for your horse, use the EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge and the advice of your saddle fitter. WIDE saddles take four gullets: 1XW 255 mm, 2XW 270 mm, 3XW 280 mm and 4XW 295 mm.
